Standards
Often we get clients asking us what standards are. Web design is like many other professions where standards are developed so that the mistakes of the past are not repeated but mostly so that everyone is on the same page. Cars for instance follow certain safety standards because of mistakes of the past but they also follow simple standards like the controls used for driving. Every car has a steering wheel, otherwise you would have to be licensed to drive specific cars if their driving interface was different every time.
In the web world we have standards too. Our standards allow for more efficient construction but also allow our designs to operate cohesively with the world. This means search works as it should and your site can actually be found. It means when you decide to improve your site in the future you will be able to actually do it without too many issues.
The world is a much better place with standards and I suggest if your looking at getting a website built with us or somewhere else you make sure web standards are used.
